More than fifty tutorial exercises are provided, divided into sections: Using IDRISI, Introductory GIS, Advanced GIS, Introductory Image Processing, Advanced Image Processing, Landchange Modeler, and Database Development. The Tutorial includes almost 600 MB of geographically diverse data sets.
IDRISI Manual
Eleven chapters present the fundamentals of GIS, Image Processing, Georeferencing, and the use of the IDRISI system. Thirteen chapters present in-depth information about specialized topics such as Decision Support, Uncertainty Management, Change and Time Series Analysis, and the Land Change Modeler for Ecological Sustainability.
Global Vector Data from GfK MACON
Included with your license of IDRISI Andes is a global vector dataset from GfK MACON GmbH, totaling nearly 200 MB. GfK MACON GmbH provides the world’s largest and most extensive archive of digital maps—more than 230 countries all over the world. The data has already been converted to IDRISI format. The dataset includes a generalized set of boundaries, roads, hydrology, rail, airports, and cities data for all countries. To highlight MACON’s finished products, a detailed dataset is also provided for Portugal. Special licensing terms.
