Database Query & Mathematical Operators

  • Reclassification of pixel values, add, subtract, multiply, divide and exponentiate images on a pixel-to-pixel basis, or by a constant value. Maximum, minimum, normalized ratio and cover options are also supported. Calculate multi-layer Boolean AND, OR and other operations.
  • Determine all unique combinations of values in two qualitative images. Crosstabulate, crosscorrelate and calculate similarity statistics for image pairs.
  • Transform the attributes of images using any of 15 operations including reciprocal, natural log and antilog, logit, square root, square, absolute and trigonometric functions. Also includes transformation between radians and degrees.
  • Extract summary statistics including minimum, maximum, total, sum, average, range, population and sample standard deviation for pixel groups.
  • Calculate the area and perimeter for images.

The IDRISI Database Workshop utility provides full SQL query and database manipulation, as well as linking between the attribute database and the spatial map layer. Click on a database field, and immediately see its representation in map form. A template is provided for easy query construction.
